Step-by-Step

  • Pour vodka and add squeezed limes, cucumber slices, and mint leaves to a glass

  • Stir and Enjoy!
Step-by-Step Demo for a Mini Batch (because this was filmed on a weeknight and I would’t be able to drink a full batch myself)

Cocktails for a Group

These are refreshing and easy cocktails to make for a group as they pair well with sunshine and friends

  • I recommend making this drink in no more than a batch for 10 servings (may be less depending on the size of your glass and how heavy your pour)
  • 5 Limes – squeeze the juice of 2 1/2 limes into a wide-mouth quart mason jar. Cut the remaining 2 1/2 limes into wedges, squeeze and toss into the jar
  • Mint Leaves – this is not a science, add ~ 20 mint leaves to the jar (or 3 – 4 stems worth if you have the little packages from the grocery store)
  • Cucumbers – add half a cucumber sliced
  • Muddle the lime juice, lime wedges, cucumbers and mint leaves together for 15 – 30 seconds
  • Vodka – pour 2 1/2 cups of vodka into the mason jar. Seal the lid and shake vigorously for 15 – 30 seconds
  • Pour the vodka mixture into your glasses before adding ice so you can more evenly disperse
  • Fill each cup with ice
  • Top with club soda and sparkling limeade and stir
  • Cheers and repeat!

Practice Tips

  • Customize this recipe to suit your taste. If you like sweeter cocktails use more of the sparkling limeade and if you’re looking to cut down on the sugar use more club soda than limeade.
  • If you’re having people over for an event and want to impress, swing by a Sonic or Chick-fil-A and buy a bag or two of crunchy ice. It’s cheaper than buying a bag at the grocery store and the pebble-y texture pairs really well this this cocktail.
  • You can make these on the go if you’re going to be on a boat or outdoors. If you put the lime juice, limes, mint and cucumber in a mason jar or two all you have to pack to make these on the fly is a muddler, the vodka, club soda, and limeade (don’t forget the ice). You can muddle these right before serving for ultimate freshness.
  • If you’re making several batches of these you can reuse some of the muddled ingredients. Assuming you didn’t disperse all the cucumber, mint, and limes into the first round of drinks, you can add about half the amount of limes, mint and cucumber, muddle, shake up with vodka and refill everyone’s glass. For refills I like to use a pitcher and mix all the ingredients rather than topping off with limeade and club soda individually.

Cheers!
