Ingredients
- 1 bottle of Tempranillo wine
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 1/2 an orange sliced
- 1/2 an orange juiced
- 1/2 cup strawberries sliced
- 1/2 cup apples diced
- 2 tbs sugar dissolved in water
Step-by-Step
- Slice oranges, strawberries, and apples
- Add fruit to a large pitcher and mix in brandy
- Pour in the wine and the juice from half an orange
- Stir in the sugar and let the sangria chill in the refrigerator overnight or for a couple of hours if you need to serve that day
- Pour over ice and enjoy!
Extra Tips
- Have fun mixing up the fruits for what’s in season. Peaches and nectarines are a great substitute for strawberries in the summer
- The Tempranillo can be swapped out for a dry rose, white, or sparkling wine
- With lighter wines I like to incorporate more citrus fruits like grapefruit or lemon. I also like to play around with different liqueurs. Try a peach infused brandy that makes a delicious rose or white wine sangria
- It’s good to taste as you go, adding more sugar or fresh fruit juice as you see fit. Note that it will taste sharper and boozier initially. When the fruits and alcohol all soak together the flavors balance out, so don’t panic if it doesn’t taste how you envisioned right when you first mix it
- You can make this recipe for a group by keeping the same ratio of ingredients, it’s so good you’ll want to make at least 2 bottles worth!
